Then There Were Four . . .

I know this is overdue, by about 2 weeks, but what's a new 2nd time mom supposed to do? Besides take care of her babies?

So, on February 18th, at 11:46 PM, Liam Alexander Sweat arrived at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He weighed 7 lbs 2 oz and was 19.5 in long. He had a great set of lungs, a full bladder - he peed 3 times before they got the diaper on him, and good aim - he got the back of the nurse's clipboard.


We spent Thursday and most of Friday in the hospital, where mommy did NOT get lots of rest, since the bed was very uncomfortable and Liam had TONS of visitors both day and night. Oh, and Daddy (Cliff) had to leave the hospital late Thursday night/Friday morning to pick up Sam, who had a stomach bug. But Friday night we finally made it home where Liam could safely drift off into a blissful slumber in his own bed.


We have spent the last few weeks getting accustomed to Liam's rhythm as well as Cliff's night-shift job. It's tough to get used to so many changes at once, for all of us. Sam seems to be adjusting well to big brotherhood. He enjoys holding and smiling at Liam and occasionally asks to feed him.


We also had a visit from Nana (my mother who lives on Cape Cod) this past week. She stayed with us most of the time and made some wonderful meals despite feeling a little under the weather for the beginning of her trip. And I know she enjoyed spending some much overdue time with her three grandsons. She will be missed until the next visit - May or September.


So here we are, a new family of four, and me the only girl. I foresee this being one heck of a ride, this whole family thing that I wasn't sure I was going to get a chance at a few years ago. I'm excited to see how things shape up for our little family.

Way Past Due

So sad that I have not posted since September. I have been so stressed and busy. Work is crazy, having had my department dissolved then moving to a new one. And learning all new departmental lingo. I'm working in marketing now. And then we went to Massachusetts on vacation for a week for Thanksgiving. Then we moved into a new apartment in December. And now the baby is due in 2 weeks, maybe sooner. It's all been so much to take in. I haven't had time to think let alone write a blog.

Things are good though, despite the fact that I have the flu, which really sucks. I haven't been sick like this for a while. And to be sick while also pregnant, very pregnant I might add, is no fun at all. But Sam is doing well in school, and Cliff finally found another job. He was laid off in December just after we got back from vacation. Nice Christmas present to say the least. But things are starting to look up I think. We are getting things together for the baby, putting our room in order, packing the hospital bag, etc. And soon we will have tax refunds to work with. And my mom should be out here soon to visit and help with baby a little.

Well, time to sign off and get the hunny up for his first day of training and Sam off to school, since I will be home today, with the FLU!! But maybe that will give me a chance to get some extra rest and maybe do a few things around the house. We'll see.
